Recovery homes
Our Recovery Housing, a one year residential program, is a safe place for individuals who are on the road to recovery, in substances use cases, residents are post-detox. In our recovery home, individuals will have the opportunities to seek employment and become active members of our church, while continuing their journey to recovery. All of our occupants are expected to participate in daily chores, bi-weekly Bible studies, weekly devotions, weekly recovery meetings and church services.
We believe that one of the biggest support systems can be family. We love seeing families support our guests, and family is always welcomed at any of our events and church services!
While in the program residents are able to obtain support from a number of local resources. Each individual will have their mental health and physical health needs met by our partnerships and providers. Department of Social Services helps them with food stamps, Medicaid, or additional needs they require for which they are eligible. Each individual will have access to counseling sessions. We work closely with UNC Health Care Phycological Center in Rocky Mount to provide residents with the support and care they need during their recovery process. Additionally, we have partnered with Ward’s Pharmacy, a specialist in compounding drugs, to provide medications that are not opioid based for those whom require pain medication, and have a history with opioid or other substance dependency.
During the program, individuals attend courses on finance, money management, housing, self-care and wellness. Assistance is provided in obtaining a driver’s license, with legal issues, applying for social services and education. In addition, we instruct with objective, practical skills which allow participants to learn how to cope with life’s hurts, habits and hangups.
After the program, individuals have the skills to obtain employment, individual living, and self sustainability. Our goal is to assist individuals who were once in the grips of some of life’s most difficult struggles transformed into contributing members of society, becoming an asset in the aid to others with similar lived experience, not just a statistic that was subsumed by their struggles.
